Following my 22 years in volunteer services administration, my current focus is assisting organizations and or individuals by sharing my extensive knowledge of volunteer management. I can provide customized training sessions, job coaching for volunteer administrators, and consulting services in order to support organizations or individuals with attaining successful outcomes.

I first served in 1993 as volunteer and events coordinator and eventually director of volunteers at a HIV/AIDS community based organization, then director of volunteer services at a HIV/AIDS residential health care facility (a licensed nursing home), and followed this by serving as assistant director at a local volunteer center. During the next ten years, starting in 2004, I worked on the start-up/launch and coordination of “new and innovative volunteer programs” in healthcare at six local hospitals thanks to grants from the United Hospital Fund. Over the years I’ve been actively involved in professional associations including NYAVA, AVA, GNYADVS, etc. in addition to the workshop presentations I’ve done for local, state, and national venues.

“We’re so lucky to have Jerry working with us!

We hired him to oversee a new, grant-funded, health coach volunteer program. Other than to introduce him to appropriate staff, he needed little from us to get up and running. He presented the program to a wide range of medical center staff, interviewed prospective volunteers, developed and implemented a training program and documented all activities so when the time came to prepare the interim report, all of the necessary information was readily available!”
